Winter ‘11 Student Art Exhibit
Opening Reception Friday, May 20, 2011
4 - 7pm at Warehouse 21
Appetizers and beverages will be served. Music by DJ Pepestilo.
This show featured student's work from the Winter 2011 Session.

Students ages 6-10 studied Edgar Degas using chalk pastel; Roy Lichtenstein using acrylic on canvas; Frank Lloyd Wright using plexie glass with glass paint; Diego Rivera’s Fresco painting using water color on plaster; Frida Kahlo’s self-portraits using grafite on paper with watercolor; Jackson Pollock using acrylic on canvas; and Henri Gaudier-Brzeska’s carved soap stone.
Students ages 10-15 studied Roy Lichtenstein using acrylic on canvas; Quilt making; Wood panel painitngs; and glass melting and jewerly making. |

Students ages 6-10 studied Henri Matisse and his style of cut paper; Alexander Calder with wire and textiles; Traditional Aboriginal painting using traditional symbols, acrylic paint and creating a story on bark-like paper; Da Vinci and self portraits with graphite on paper; Vincent Van Gogh using acrylic on canvas; and Claude Monet’s still-lifes with oil pastel.
Students ages 10-15 studied Banksy, creating several stencils and transfering their work on t-shirts and posters; Amsterdam Elephant parade where they created their own composition
on a sculpture of an elephant; and they learned how to use oil pastels using the traditional techniques and processes of oil painting. |

This show featured student's work from the Winter 2010 Session.

Students ages 6-10 studied various artists such as Marc Chagall, Paul Cézanne, James Whistler, Robert Indiana, Salvador Dali, Louise Bourgeois, Judy Pfaff, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. They explored various mediums including acrylic paint, oil and chalk pastels, wire and cardboard, cut paper, watercolor, collague, wood, plaster, and oil pastel paint on cardboard.
Students ages 10-15 studied local artist and paper engineer Andrew Baron of Papyrus Studio in Santa Fe. They designed their own pop-up book and fine-tuned the mechanics of their book from Andrew Baron himself! They also studied the history of printmaking and created block prints, studied and explored wax encaustic painting, and painted with ink and water colors while studying artist Charles Demuth. |

This show featured student's work from the Winter 2009 Session.
Students ages 6-13 studied art history, learned new techniques and worked with a variety of mediums and materials throughout the Winter 2009 semester. This show featured inspired works in soap stone, reverse glass painting, oil and chalk pastels, acrylics, watercolor and collage.
